Immersive Reading Sensorial Experience
A book launch in celebration of
Tori Wildebird's
MATERIAL of IMMATERIAL
Friday, Dec 13th -
7:00pm - 9pm || $44 exchange
Tori Wildebird is an artist/designer and writer. She shoots macro photography of Mother Nature and turns the images into patterns that she prints on textiles and wallpaper. The textiles are used to make pillows, blankets, scarves and more. She also makes unique talismans, fusing together unusual antiquities, crystals and stones into sculptural stories that feel other worldly.
Her writing explores her heart and her higher self that she came to know deeply during a 3-year period she spent in silence, stillness and solitude every other week when her daughter was with her dad. Her writing explores the crests and troughs of the waves she experienced during that time, navigating herself out of her own suffering.
Her book, Material of Immaterial, captures her transformation in depth, as it transcribes 10 segments of audio she recorded during that time, documenting the brilliance and horror of all she was experiencing, coming to know the truth of herself for the first time in her life. The book is broken into the 4 seasons of her life, projected through the perspectives of the Feminine, the Masculine and the Witness. The book couples her art with her heart, as her patterns are featured throughout the book, telling the story of her experience through her beautiful imagery of nature.
Tori lives a sweet life nestled deep in the trees with her daughter and beloved community in Topanga Canyon.
The Immersive Reading/Sensorial Experience set for December 13th at Moona Star is a book launch celebration of Tori Wildebird’s book, Material of Immaterial. Tori will be reading passages from her book between meditative moments of connection to self and others that are threaded together with vocals, chords and bowls played by Tihane, a brilliant artist, alchemist and facilitator of coming home within.
