The Importance of Conscious Fashion

Why we believe conscious fashion is so important.

Q: What is it made from?

A: dead-stock natural fabrics - silk, hemp, linen and organic cottons

Why Deadstock Fabric:

Choosing deadstock when we can means choosing fabric that was left over from other big manufacturers and may otherwise end up in a landfill. Just like there is an abundance of vintage clothing, this is the same for fabric. The amount of left over fabric is horrifying. Bringing new life to this fabric is a necessity in the fashion industry.

Why Natural Fibers:

Wearing natural fibers is better for your skin, breathable and biodegradable. It is made with less chemicals than synthetic which better for your body and the planet. Not only that, but the natural fibers we choose are long lasting, so you don’t have to keep buying new pieces all the time.

Q: Who makes it?

A: 3 people, literally. When we say hand-made, we really mean it.

Designed by Monica, made by Hector and plant dyed by Monica with the help of Adriana. All locally in our downtown studio or Topanga.

Q. What is it dyed with, if it is?

A. All plants and flowers, many sourced locally or found through sustainable small farmers. Throughout history plant dyes have been used by our ancestors, who gathered dyes from what they had locally. Natural dyes are good for our well being, biodegradable, non-toxic and making better for the environment, as they don't have any carcinogenic components which are found in many synthetic dyes. Natural dyes truly connect us to the natural world.

Q: How many ways can I wear it?

A: We try do design pieces you can dress from day to night, dress up or dress down.

We design pieces the you can mix or match wear as is or as a set for a seamlessly sophisticated separates with any other items in your closet for multiple looks. Making it so you dont need to buy as many clothes.
